What are you applying for?
Student Council is a leadership class.
As a member of Student Council you are expected to demonstrate the highest level of respect toward all members of the school community and those at outings.
As a Student Council member there will be times/days you MUST be able to stay after school and come in on the nights/weekends. Attendance at StuCo events is part of your grade for the class.
Like any class at Stoney, there are daily/weekly assignments as well as after school commitments.

Questionnaire:
The questionnaire is the first part of your application that will count for 20% of your overall score. This part consists on multiple questions about yourself, your leadership abilities, your ideas for Student Council, and more. Make sure to answer all questions to the fullest extent you can.
Essay:
The Essay is the second part of your application that will count for 20% of your overall score. The essay will give you a prompt to write about and you will be tasked to write a well developed essay on the topic.
Teacher Recommendations:
Teacher recommendations are the third part of your application that will count for 20% of your overall score. In total there are three teacher recommendations you will need to get, two of which must be from current teachers.
Interview:
The interview is the fourth part of your application that will count for 20% of your overall score. You will be assigned a time for your interview, after you apply, where you will meet with a selection committee made up of the outgoing President, incoming President, and Student Council Advisor. During your interview you will be asked questions and will be scored on your responses.
School Vote:
The school vote is the fifth and final part of your application that will count for 20% of your overall score if your are currently in 9th through 11th grade, all current 8th graders are exempt from this part of the application. The school vote is a form that will be sent out to the entire school with a list of all applicants where the student body is able to vote on who they would want on Student Council.
